Spring Has Sprung

What happens after celebrating our role as stewards of this planet’s resources at Concert Earth? After all, Concert Earth was a great reminder of the values associated with clean air, beautiful trees and plants, clear water, resource conservation, and plenty of sunshine. Hence, the Firestarters will be heading into the Sunshine. On Sunday June 1st, we hope you will join us at the Mason Sunshine Concert Series from 6-8PM as the band is featured live on stage. Also scheduled that evening will be a performance by the McGing Irish Dancers. These award winning young people will demonstrate their talents in Irish step dancing. We’re hoping to have them join us on stage to dance along with one of our fiery hot dance tunes. Join us at Corwin Nixon Park in Mason for a lively evening. Mason will go green that night... Irish Green!

Concert Earth & Environmental Fair

Mark April 26th on your calendars for a great event at Miami Whitewater Park as the Firestarters join a host of other great bands for Concert Earth & Environmental Fair. We would like you to join us for a celebration of our combined roles as stewards of a clean environment. Roger Drawdy and the Firestarters, Peppertown, 6 Again, Moon Zoomers (Roger’s other band) and others will gather for a day of music and positive energy designed to heighten our awareness of the environment, while keeping smiles on the faces of those listening to great music.

Stroll through the exhibits of modern environmentally friendly devices and methods available to help improve our lives. Compete in the Recyclable Arts contest by creating an art piece or sculpture from recyclable items used around the house. If any of this helps change one action to another more positive for the earth on which we live, then it will be a great success. Don’t miss it!

Earth Day

According to Wikipedia, “Earth Day is a name used for two different observances, both held annually during spring in the northern hemisphere, and autumn in the southern hemisphere. These are intended to inspire awareness of and appreciation for the Earth's environment.” We support this effort and would like you to join us for a celebration of our combined roles as stewards of a clean environment. For one day, Roger Drawdy and the Firestarters will be joined by Peppertown and a surprise band for a day of music and positive energy, all designed to heighten our awareness of the environment while keeping a smile on the faces of those listening to great music. Watch for details on our website and in your email if you are on our mailing list. It will be a grand day for fun. If it helps change one action each of us makes in life, to another action more positive for the earth on which we live, then it will be a great success. Don’t miss it!

The Festival Season Begins!

Start packing your bags for a great road trip to Savannah, Georgia. On February 15th the Firestarters will perform in Augusta, Georgia, on their way to the Savannah Irish Festival (Feb.16-17).

This will kick off a great music festival season for the band. Included this year on the Firestarters festival schedule is a Saturday and Sunday appearance on the Rock Stage at the Dublin Irish Festival in August.

In the meantime, join us in beautiful Historic Downtown Savannah for a great weekend. The people, sights, food and fun are always fantastic during the Irish festival weekend.

HALLOWED GROUND IS NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE

Thanks to all who attended the IMAX release of our new album, Hallowed Ground. We are grateful for your overwhelming enthusiasm about the music and video. Roger and the Firestarters want to extend our appreciation in particular to Dave Brown, IMAX Theater Director, for all of his efforts on our behalf. Additionally, we would like to thank Bryan Barnhill for his time and talents in editing and converting the video to DVD format.
